We are Brenda and Owen Campbell and we bought FNQ Apartments in January 2010. We live in Cairns and we LOVE it here.
Country Queenslanders (southerners), we each come from professions outside of the tourism industry but have valued travel and experiencing all that Australia and the world offers. But, our greatest love has been for tropical Far North Queensland. The region just has so much to offer that we never cease to be amazed at her majesty. Take a look for yourself at just a fraction of things that we love to do in and around Cairns.
We have three gorgeous and talented daughters, all grownup and following their own passions. We have an equally talented dog whom lives with us in Cairns and guards the office from people who try to escape from FNQ….that means she’s not terribly busy because once people get here, everyone loves FNQ and wants to stay.
We came to Cairns on a family holiday in 2004. What a fantastic place to visit! We loved it sooo much that Brenda applied for a senior management position here, won it, and we moved lock, stock and barrel from Roma to Cairns.
After many years of corporate life (Brenda has been a public service manager for ever), we were faced with a yearning to change careers and lifestyles. We opted to follow our passion and we bought into the travel industry: we bought FNQ Apartments in January 2010. We LOVE helping people to plan and book their holidays and we are good at it because we have had so many great holidays ourselves and know this area like the back of our hand.
When we bought FNQ Apartments, we were lucky enough to inherit two existing travel consultants into the deal. What we would have done without the super fantastic Megan and Sara we just have no idea! If you have ever called FNQ Apartments then you will most probably have spoken with Sara or Megan. They both have extensive experience in the travel industry and life in FNQ. Sara used to manage one of our very exclusive resorts up here and knows what people want from a stay in FNQ, how they want it and when they want it. She is simply amazing with her holiday insight. Megan knows all there is to know about the properties and tours in the area and has a very keen finger on the pulse of all things family oriented – if you are bringing kids with you, Megan has lots of magical ideas on teachable moments regarding the rainforest meeting the reef.
Here at FNQ Apartments, we take our passions and our beliefs seriously. We believe in people, in having fun and we believe in the environment. Our corporate social responsibility is something that we hope is a contagion that you manage to catch from us too. We support
Oxfam through a monthly financial contribution and the purchase of Fair Trade goods
the Women’s Fistula Hospital in Ethiopia by knitting squares and making blankets, and
the Australian Conservation Foundation by a monthly financial donation and social marketing to preserve our precious resources of reef and rainforest eco systems.
